Does Daxxify Work?
According to clinical trials that the FDA used to approve this treatment in 2022, yes, Daxxify is effective at treating glabellar lines. After 4 weeks, 98% of patients achieved none or mild wrinkle severity. Some patients maintained positive treatment results up to 9 months after their treatment but typically results last around 6 months as opposed to the average of 3-4 months with other neurotoxins. Initial results may be seen in as early as 48 hours after treatment, but the full results are most often experienced within 4 weeks.
Why Does Daxxify Last Longer?
Developed by Revance Therapuetics here in America, Revance's Peptide Exchange Technology™ is the driving factor behind Daxxify. This is a proprietary, 35-amino-acid stabilizing excipient with a highly positive charge that slows down the fading of the neuromodulator in the body. Unlike other neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin, Daxxify does not contain human serum albumin or contain any human or animal products. Instead, it uses peptides and amino acids. This product is American-made and is classified as vegan-friendly.
Is Daxxify Safe?
Yes. Daxxify (sometimes referred to as "Daxi") is backed by the largest Phase 3 clinical trial program ever conducted for a neuromodulator designed to treat glabellar lines. The report concluded that Daxxify is considered safe and well tolerated by trial patients, with no serious adverse events recorded. Mild side effects that occurred were similar to what patients experienced with other neurotoxins including:
- Injection site reactions (bruising, pain & itching) - 9%
- Headache - 6%
- Eyelid Ptosis (drooping) - 2%
- Facial numbness - 1%
How is Daxxify Different From Botox or Dysport?
While we are the first to admit that we LOVE Botox and Dysport, some patients are simply interested in treatments that last longer. While Daxxify delivers similar results to both Botox and Dysport, the main difference is that the results can last up to 5 to 6 months on average as opposed to 3-4 months.
